JAKE IN THE START-UP HOT SEAT AT WEWORK BOSTON

Kathryn YeeComment

Join me tonight to see Jake at WeWork Boston!

Jake's sitting in the Startup Hot Seat presented by The Boston Calendar & General Assembly representing his full-time gig, RunKeeper along side an amazing panel including: Nicole Stata (mentor of mine and an early investor in RunKeeper), Sara Castellanos of Boston Business Journal, Tom O'Keefe (@BostonTweet), and Curt Nickisch of WBUR.

"Full-time gig" doesn't quite explain Jake's passion for what he does. When he's not helping me with Bash & The Everyday Napkin, he's working deals with brands like, Nike, Saucony, New BalanceSony and Spotifyand crushing it at RunKeeper. He was the 5th person to joint the Boston start-up almost 5 years ago when he clicked with CEO Jason Jacobs and the founding team. I've watch him grow from Community Manager to Director of Business Development. Jake works day and night in the things he believes in.

Not only is he a crazy runner and truly loves to hit the pavement, (I think he's run over 20+ races and 14+ marathons) but Jake believes in RunKeeper's ability to change lives and empower people to stay motivated and healthy. Jake is so passionate about RunKeeper and it's culture that his co-workers say he "bleeds blue."

He's motivated by making a difference, doing good and bettering the lives of others. Tonight I'm going to see Jake not as my fiancé but as a true inspiration.
